The base trim level has been dropped. The 2.7-liter V6 is now standard (the LX still gets the 3.5-liter V6), as is an automatic transmission. Also newly standard this year are four-wheel antilock brakes and traction control. Exterior changes include a new grille surround, side cladding, taillamps, tailgate handle, rear bumper design and alloy wheels. Inside, there is new seat fabric, an upgraded two-tone color scheme and a revised instrument cluster. A power driver seat is now standard on the LX, and a compass is included with the optional sunroof.

  I have just returned from a trip to Illinois, what a joy to drive? Over 2000 miles of joy in less than a week. You just cant beat the vehicle for the price!

  I got my Santa Fe in January 06, and have been driving it since then. It is free of maintenance and very comfortable SUV. I got aaround 19-20 MPG in city driving. It is probably the best SUV you can get wity your money. It has 4 disc ABS, 6 airbags, tiptronic transmission as standard options. I got mine for 21k $ and also included 6 disc CD changer. It is a very comfortable SUV and handles much better than most of the SUVs (wider). The back is very roomy as well compae to Jeep Liberty and any ofthe SUVS at its class. If you are looking for a non-expensive 4WD, Santa Fe is definitely the best you can buy.

  This car has proven to be extremely fun to drive with an acceptable fuel consumption for a small SUV. Its standard model comes well equipped with a good AC, cd player, shiftronic and power mirrors/doors/windows.

  This is a pretty good vehicle,we been avg.20 to 22 mph in city, it will proberly be more when the engine is broken in. Havent had it on the rode yet but I assume it will be better than the city. The santa fe is a great addition to our family. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

  Good sturdy vechicle. It is slow to accelerate but when it catches up it will blow you away.

  I love thge warranty but after the purchase I dont have to think about it because everything works great. This vehicle is very fun to drive and has alot of get up and go with the 3.5 v6.The heated seats are a plus in the cold weather months and the leather cleans up easy when my kids make a mess. The only down side is not having power seats. That one option would make my Sante Fe perfect.

  I traded in a Ford Escape with 30000 miles on it for the 2004 Santa Fe. I got tired of Fords expensive service practices and terrible warranty...and the great warranty on the Hyundai sure beats Fords...

  Only half the vehicle a Grand Cherokee for 3/4 the price. Comes with lots of options but they dont preform very well. The 4wd drive dosent work well if you spin your tires. It cuts in and out and at times the pauses leave you with no power going to any wheel. The interior is roomy but components are lacking in quality. The rear seat bottems are made entirely of foam (no frame) and dont lay flat when folded down. The floor carpet and mats are econo big time. The vehicle must draw its outside air close to the road because the exhaust flumes from other cars get sucked inside big time. Lots of AC in the winter because of using the recirculating feature. The body and doors are quality.
